Many exciting things are happening in Michigan cities and the creative redevelopment of existing real estate is helping to jump start this rejuvenation. Monica J. Labe of Dickinson Wright PLLC in Troy and John D. Gaber of Williams, Williams, Rattner and Plunkett PC in Birmingham are putting together an exciting three-day conference designed for real estate practitioners interested in learning about some of the dynamic projects going on throughout our State. Part of the discussion will include how to maximize development potential for different property types.

Thursday, we will begin the conference with an active panel discussion that will feature the business and legal issues involved with actual urban redevelopment success stories as presented by the representatives who represented the developers.

Friday’s workshops will address maximizing the redevelopment potential of shopping centers, the challenges of leasing office and industrial space in this economy, the availability and challenges of obtaining conventional financing, and the new landscape of economic development incentives.

There will be roundtables on Friday and Saturday that will support this redevelopment theme and provide opportunities for interactive learning. Carol Cain, host of “Michigan Matters,” will be our guest speaker Saturday morning.
