The minutes of the September 15, 1999, council meeting were approved as corrected.
Treasurer's Report
There was no Treasurer's report.
Legislative Report
Three bills passed the Senate to amend the Administrative Procedures Act. The bills make the Office of Regulatory Reform a Type I agency within the Department of Management and Budget. Jackie Doig and Sharon Feldman will review legislation and post an analysis on the web page. There was a short discussion of the proposed legislation to amend the powers of the Attorney General.
Newsletter
We need articles for newsletter. Sharon Feldman volunteered to work on an article. We discussed ideas for content.
Chairperson's Report
Chairperson Williams reported that Sharon Feldman will serve as the liaison to the Environmental Law Section Council.
Program Committee
The Program Committee has met and decided that a basic administrative law program will be held in October in West Michigan at a location such as Grand Haven or Saugatuck. It will be a two day session, possibly a Wednesday and Thursday meeting. The possibility of joining with the Institute of Continuing Legal Education as a co-sponsor. The program was discussed. Additionally, the program committee needs to determine a speaker for the September annual meeting.
Meeting Schedule
The council will meet January 12, March 15, and May 17 at 6:00 p.m. at the University Club in East Lansing.
