Truth Recovery, Inc.

On April 23, 2016, Truth Recovery, Inc. hosted its first felony expungement and resource fair at the Inkster Community Center to help participants expunge eligible misdemeanor and felony convictions.  Information was also provided to participants looking for employment opportunities.

In collaboration with Truth Recovery, Inc., attorneys Danita Clipper, Kim Anderson, Steve Lockhart, John J. Goldaugh, Janecki Nance, and Nora Hudson provided legal assistance in the expungement process.  Representatives from Wayne County Community College and the city of Inkster also attended the fair and provided information on educational and other community resources available to the participants.

Executive Director Marla Wheeler of Truth Recovery hopes to sponsor another expungement event in the fall.  Truth Recovery is a non-residential treatment program that provides a safe non-judgmental environment for those seeking assistance with the effects of substance dependence.
