Meeting Minutes

12:15 p.m. on January 16, 2001, at the offices of Warner Norcross & Judd LLP in Southfield, Michigan

In attendance were M. Boonstra, D. Gravelyn, R. Kalisher, S. Berenbaum, H. Iwrey, D. Chardavoyne, B. Masternak, and C. Halseth.

Approval of Minutes
The Minutes for the December 5, 2000 meeting were approved. The Minutes for the September 20, 2000 Annual Meeting were approved, with the exception of correcting a misspelling to the surname "Kalisher" appearing in those Minutes.
Presentation of Plaque and Recognition of Service
Mr. Iwrey was presented with a plaque in recognition of his service to the Section.
Committee Reports
  • Legislative Committee
Mr. Iwrey will write an article on the new Hart-Scott-Rodino amendments.
  • Seminars Committee
Mr. Gravelyn has spoken to the Computer Law Section regarding a proposed joint 2 ½ to 3 hour seminar on e-commerce issues. Approximately half of the presentation would involve antitrust considerations for e-commerce. Potential topics include internet price controls, B2B exchanges, and joint purchasing agreements.

Under the proposed arrangement, the Computer Law Section would provide a speaker and a mailing list of potential attendees. The Antitrust Section would pay for the seminar costs out of our budget. We will target a date in late March for the seminar.
  • Website Committee
Mr. Boonstra has forwarded Council Meeting Minutes through 1998 for inclusion on the web site. Mr. Gravelyn and Mr. Deline will e-mail the remaining Minutes to Nancy Brown at the State Bar. Each document must be saved and transmitted as a separate MS Word or Wordperfect document, and should be sent to Nbrown@michbar.org.
Old Business
    None.
Adjournment
The meeting was adjourned at 1:00 p.m.

    Respectfully submitted,

    Brian J. Masternak
    Acting Secretary
