Meeting Minutes

May 13, 2003, in conjunction with the Aviation Seminar at Pontiac International Airport (PTK)

2003 Annual Meeting

To save the expense of obtaining a room for our exclusive use, the Section has made arrangements with the Negligence Section to split the use, and hence the cost, of a room for the annual meeting. Final arrangements are being made.

Nomination of Officers

Bob Hoschner, chair-elect will become chair at the 2003 Annual Meeting. Karl Randall was nominated for treasurer and Ken Bobo was nominated for Secretary.

Sandra Hazlett and Ron Weiss occupy terms on the Council which expire this year; Rick Durden and Barry Smith occupy terms which will expire in 2004. Ron has indicated that he will serve for another two-year term; Sandra has not indicated a preference yet.

Thus, nominations are needed for chair-elect, and for one, two-year term on the Council. Any interested person should contact Gerry Padilla

Treasurer’s Report

Karl Randall reported a current balance of $7,107.00.

Summer Activities

A summer event is in the planning stage. Two suggestions are the Kalamazoo Air Zoo and the High Altitude Chamber, however, it is believed that the High Altitude Chamber has been closed since September 11, 2001.

Miscellaneous

A suggestion has been made that a bibliography be asembled for those members who practice aviatin law. If anyone has a favourite book, article or other reference, please let Mr. Padilla know and we will put together a bibliography for posting on the website.

Two other issues raised concern (1) adding a practice area to the website; and (2) placing a list of section members on the website. Both of these issues will be explored in the future.

Conclusion

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.

Kenneth D. Bobo
Secretary
