Meeting Minutes

November 4, 2003 in Grand Rapids

The meeting was called to order by president Bob Hoschner.

Elections

One council position remains open. We would like to get someone from the west side of the state to fill tis position. Please provide the names of anyone who you think might be interested.
Section Meetings
With the GLIAC conference scheduled for 06-08 February 2004 in Lansing, it was decided that the next regular meeting of the section would be held immediately before the section's presentation. The section meeting will be held at 2:00 pm on February 07; the conference presentation will occur immediately thereafter, from 3:00pm - 5:00pm.

Treasurer’s Report

Karl Randall reported a current balance of $8,981.42.

2004 Great Lakes International Aviation Conference

Probable speakers at the GLIAC will be Mike McKinley, Steve Chiat, Rick Durden and Bob Hoeschner. In addition to the FAA update, we hope to talk about airport preservation and the plight of the small airport.

Future Events

We would like to hold a seminar in the spring of 2004 at the Kalamazoo Air Zoo, which adjoins the Kalamazoo-Battle Creek International Airport(AZO). The seminar would coincide with the grand opening of the "new" Air Zoo. On display will be the last remaining SR-71, which became part of the Air Zoo's permanent display in 2003. The Air Zoo also has fighter simulators and a completely remodeled interior.

Conclusion

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
