Chair’s Letter from Michael S. Khoury
As part of our continued effort to activate our Section, I encourage you to register today for the Section’s major CLE event, the Michigan Business Law Institute, to be held June 13-14 at the historic Dearborn Inn. See you all there!

Section Files Amicus Brief
The Section authorized the filing of an amicus brief in the matter of Miller v. AllState. The filing followed a request for the amicus brief by the Michigan Supreme Court and the approval of the filing by the Section Council. As most business law attorneys know, the issue in the case is the scope of the Professional Service Corporation Act to mandate that certain professions are required to form corporations under the Act. View the position of the Section, as well as the complete brief.

Resources for Nonprofit Organizations
The Michigan Nonprofit Association's Staying Legal Project provides resources to nonprofit organizations, and the founders, officers, directors, and others assisting nonprofits. Its website was recently assembled by the former Charitable Trust Administrator in the office of the Michigan Attorney General, Marion Gorton, who is now on the staff of the MNA.
