The above counsel was elected to fill vacancies occurring by elections to officers and resignations. Outgoing Section Chair, William Ladd, was presented with a pen from the Section.

Following the CLS meeting, three panelists discussed the ADA In the Juvenile Court. The panelists were Attorney Mark Dedenbach (who discussed the ADA in the context of termination of parental rights); Attorney Amy Maes of Michigan Protection and Advocacy (discussing whether respondent's have an ADA right to reasonable accommodations relating to reunification efforts); and Dawn Knoellinger (describing the "Smart Parent Program" in Saginaw County).

The next CLS meeting will be in Southfield, Michigan at the Holidome on Telegraph Road on Wednesday, October 10, 2001 at 4:30 PM. An announcement will be forthcoming as to telephone conferencing.
