Michigan Fiscal Crisis Update
Heads of the Senate Fiscal Agency and the House Fiscal Agency and the
State Treasurer held a Revenue Estimating Conference on May 18. Consensus
estimates confirmed the expected news that the current year deficit is
worse than previously calculated. Revenue estimates for the current fiscal
year ending in four months show a $803.2 million deficit. Approximately
$327 million of the shortfall may be addressed in the conference report
for SB
220.
