Agenda: HB 4260 Clarify definition of "persons in a relationship of trust with a vulnerable adult"; HB 5846 Extend period to surety for defendant's failure to appear to 14 days; HB 5698 Provide for and limit uniform language on certificate of completion (weapons licensing).
Pending Referral: A bill providing certain exceptions for law enforcement personnel regarding weapons.
SBM Position: HB 4260 - Active support. The bill would set out in detail who is included in the definition "person in a relationship of trust". Specifically, the term would apply to any person entrusted with responsibility for managing the vulnerable adult's money or property. This bill would allow for cases where a vulnerable adult is abused to prosecute his/her abuser.
