FOCUS: Michigan Business Tax
Governor Granholm may sign the legislation passed by the Michigan House and Senate this week to enact the new Michigan Business Tax.

The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) has posted an Excel spreadsheet program on its website to help users determine their new tax liability.

The Michigan Senate will not hold session this week. Senate session will reconvene on Tuesday, July 17. The Michigan House is only scheduled to hold session this week on Tuesday, July 10 of this week. The House will also reconvene for regular session days on July 17.

Rule Amendments
2007-02 - Amendment of Rules 3.972 and 3.973 of the Michigan Court Rules
The amendments correct references that were changed as a result of statutory amendments made in 2002 to the Child Protection Law, as well as 2005 amendments of the Mental Health Code.
