Veterans Benefits Training

Offered in conjunction with Michigan Forum of Estate Planners

A full day seminar that includes the 3 hour CLE course required by the Department of Veterans Affairs for all VA accredited attorneys, and the opportunities and pitfalls of including planning for veterans in your practice.

    Meets 3 hour CLE annual course requirement for all attorneys accredited by the Department of Veterans Affairs and includes a question and answer portion from 11:30 AM—Noon.

    Presenter: Victoria L. Collier

    Victoria L. Collier is the founder of the Elder & Disability Law Firm of Victoria L. Collier, PC located in Decatur, Georgia. She is a nationally recognized expert in Veterans Benefits advocacy and teaches and mentors attorneys nationwide in VA benefits planning. Among a long list of credentials, Victoria is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force as well as the U.S. Army Reserves; admitted to practice before the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims; a member of the National Organization of Veteran Advocates (NOVA); a presenter at the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Inc. (NAELA) on VA Benefits for the Certified Elder Law Exam preparation course; and co-author of VisPro, software to assist in completing VA claims forms.

    Panel discussion: Opportunities and Pitfalls of Including Veterans Benefits Planning in your Practice

    Presenters: Amy Rombyer Tripp, Arthur L. Malisow, and Jack Becher

    Amy Rombyer Tripp is a partner in the firm Chalgian & Tripp Law Offices, PLLC, and concentrates her practice in the areas of elder law, estate planning, and special needs planning, focusing in particular on older adults with long term care planning and advocacy needs. She serves as chairperson of the Elder Law and Disability Rights Section of the State Bar of Michigan, board member of the Huntington Society, and an executive member of the Jackson Area Estate Planning Council. Ms. Tripp also continues to be an active member of the Probate and Estate Planning Section of the State Bar of Michigan, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and the Academy of Special Needs Planners.

    Arthur L. Malisow (Art) is a shareholder of Mall Malisow & Cooney, PC - the Holistic ElderCare, Special Needs & Estate Planning Law Firm located in Farmington Hills. In addition to being a member of the State Bar of Michigan, Wealth Counsel, Michigan Forum of Estate Planning Attorneys, and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, he has earned the distinction as a nationally Board Certified Elder Law Attorney, by the National Elder Law Foundation.

    John J. Becher (Jack) is a veterans benefits specialist at the law firm of Mall Malisow & Cooney, P.C. Jack is a U. S. Army veteran and a graduate of Eastern Michigan University. He retired as a veterans counselor supervisor from the Oakland County Veterans Services after over 30 years of service. Jack is a member of both the Michigan Association of County Veterans Counselors and the National Association of County Veterans Service Officers and is accredited to represent veterans and their dependents before the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
