Chair's Letter From Lisa Panah
The Nominating Committee for the Health Care Law Section will be meeting soon to nominate members for appointment to the Substantive Law Subcommittees and the Health Law Schmooze Committee. These positions are for a one-year term, starting on the date of the HCLS annual meeting and ending on the date of the subsequent year’s HCLS annual meeting.
The Substantive Law Committee conducts most of the education programs for the HCLS. It consists of five subcommittees of three members each: Providers, Payors, Medical-Legal, Technology, and Legislative Update. Members participate in a monthly committee meeting, usually by telephone conference. Each subcommittee organizes two or three programs each year under the direction of the Substantive Law Committee Chair.
The Health Law Schmooze Committee was formed last year. It consists of members representing geographic areas throughout Michigan. The goal of this committee is to organize Health Law Schmooze events wherever there are enough interested HCLS members.
For those who are interested in participating in one of these positions, including those who are currently serving, please e-mail me by June 9 at lisa.panah@kitch.com.
HCLS Annual Meeting—Call for Lunch Roundtable Topic Ideas and Discussion Leaders
Thank you to those who submitted ideas and volunteered to serve as discussion leaders for the roundtable luncheon. Serving as a table discussion leader is a great way to get involved with the Section. If you are interested in volunteering and/or have topic ideas, please e-mail Ann Hollenbeck at ahollenbeck@honigman.com who is collecting the information for the HCLS Annual Meeting Planning Committee.
