- there is no duty for a line by line review of the specification,
- that any recognition that there is new matter will not be knowingly ignored and applicant made to redesignate the application as a CIP, and
- where there is an intervening reference the examiner will carefully check each claim for support in the prior application.
Applicants should not be required to supply any additional statement that could be used as a means for determining that there is no new matter present. The fact that reference is made by applicant to the filing of a continuation should be sufficient for
