January 21, 2000 Members Present: 1. Minutes: The minutes of the December meeting were approved. 2. Chairperson's Report: Mr. Starrs indicated that it had been a quiet month and that he had nothing new to report at this time. 3. Treasurer's Report: Mr. Briggs reported that the account was in good shape as of December 31 with a balance of $8,945.61. Committee Reports: Education—Ms. Monaco requested help with ideas for the spring seminar. She proposed a "dressing for success" seminar which had been held at BCBS and was quite popular. Mr. Christensen suggested as possibilities a "fine art of small talk" or a diversity seminar with facilitators. These options (along with the possibility of a technology-related topic which was dismissed because we have overdone that topic) were discussed at some length, and it was decided that Ms. Schriner would distribute a brief survey via e-mail to determine the interest level in these topics. Membership—No report. Newsletter—Ms. Schriner noted that the next newsletter would be going out in mid to late March. Publicity—No report. Website—Mr. Gorzalski told the Council of his recent additions to the website, including new links to other pages and the latest newsletter. 5. Other Business: There was no other business. Mr. Starrs reminded the members that the February 17 meeting would be held at Ms. Monaco's offices in the Blue Cross Blue Shield building. 6. Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at approximately 10:05 a.m. |
