The Hispanic Bar Association of Michigan (HBAM) was formed in 1991 to cultivate the science of jurisprudence, promote reforms in the law, facilitate the administration of justice, and elevate the standard of integrity, honor, and courtesy in the legal profession in the State of Michigan.

The Hispanic Bar Association of Michigan specifically seeks to:

a. Assist and counsel Hispanic community-based organizations and other needed Hispanic programs;
b. Serve as an advocate for greater representation of Hispanic attorneys at different levels of the State and Federal judiciary in the State of Michigan; and
c. Advocate for greater representation of Hispanic attorneys in the various standing committees and task forces under the jurisdiction of the U.S. District Court, State Bar of Michigan, and Michigan Supreme Court
