The purpose of the Women’s Bar Association is to promote improvements in the administration of justice, to improve relations between the legal profession and the public, to secure the rights of women in society and to advance the interest of women in the legal profession and to promote equality and social justice for all people.

Biographies

  Jill M. Krolikowski is the current president of the Women's Bar Association. She has recently opened her own practice, located in Royal Oak. Ms. Krolikowski has been practicing law for over five years, concentrating on insurance coverage litigation. Ms. Krolikowski attended James Madison College at Michigan State University, graduating in 1996. She also attended Wayne State University Law School, graduating cum laude in 2002. Ms. Krolikowski has been active in the Women's Bar Association since her first year of practice.
     
     
  Lucy K. Snyder is the vice-president for the Women's Bar Association and a solo practitioner at the Law Offices of Lucy K. Snyder, MBA, JD. She focuses her practice on real estate, business acquisitions, contracts and estate planning. Ms. Snyder is a graduate of Suffolk University Law School in Boston, Massachusetts (JD), the University of Massachusetts at Amherst (MBA), and Boston College School of Management (BS; Economics). Prior to Law School, Ms. Snyder worked as the Public Finance Manager in the Executive Office of Administration and Finance in the Governor's Office for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts working on the State Budget, financial statements, cash management, and state bond issuance. Ms. Snyder also worked as the Director of Finance for the State Appellate Defender's Office in the Michigan Supreme Court in Detroit, Michigan, and as the Corporate Controller for CapGemini America.
     
    WBA Treasurer, Elizabeth M. Smith, is in-house counsel for Asset Acceptance, LLC, a financial service corporation located in Warren, MI. She concentrates her litigation practice in the areas of real estate, compliance, lending and creditors’ rights. Ms. Smith received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Japanese, cum laude, from Western Michigan University (1997) and her Juris Doctor from University of Detroit Mercy School of Law (2001). In addition to the Women’s Bar Association, Oakland County region of the Women lawyers Association of Michigan, Ms. Smith is also a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Oakland County Bar Association, and the Michigan Creditor Bar Association. In the past, Ms. Smith has served the WBA as a chair of various committees, including the Website Committee and the Public Relations Committee.
     
  Danielle C. Schoeny is Recording Secretary of the Women's Bar Association and is an associate with the law firm of Sommers Schwartz, P.C. in Southfield, Michigan. She focuses her practice in the areas of Personal Injury, Medical Malpractice and Auto Negligence. Ms. Schoeny is a graduate of Wayne State University (B.S. B.A., Accounting, Summa Cum Laude) and University of Detroit Mercy School of Law (J.D., Summa Cum Laude). Last year, Ms. Schoeny served as the Recording Secretary, and prior to that Ms. Schoeny was the Co-Editor of Headnotes.
     
    Starr Hewitt Kincaid is corresponding secretary of the Women's Bar Association.
     
  Julie Pfitzenmaier is the WLAM Representative for the Women’s Bar Association. She also serves as the chair of the Communications Committee. Ms. Pfitzenmaier currently works for The Findling Law Firm, PLC, and focuses her practice on probate litigation. Ms. Pfitzenmaier received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan in
Ann Arbor, Michigan, and her Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School in Detroit, Michigan. In addition to the practice of law, Ms. Pfitzenmaier is a certified instructor of the Dale Carnegie Course.
