State Bar Launches e-Journal On-The-Go

7/12/00

The State Bar has launched a new version of its popular, high-tech e-Journal publication. The new "e-Journal On-The-Go" offers the same content of the e-mail version but is formatted and made available for download to Personal Digital Assistants (PDA), including Palm and Windows CE devices.

With e-Journal On-The-Go, lawyers in Michigan will able to keep up with all of the precedent-setting cases affecting their practice-whether they're in the courtroom, at home, or traveling out of town. All the summaries of all the cases in the regular version of the e-Journal can now be read on hand-held computers.

For those with PDA's, just click on the ad in the e-Journal (www.michbar.org/e-journal/avantgo/clicktopage.html) to find out how to make it all work. To sign up to have the e-Journal delivered to you daily via e-mail, visit the Bar's web site at www.michbar.org and type your name and address where indicated.

The e-Journal is a free service offered to members of the State Bar of Michigan. It is delivered by e-mail every day and contains summaries of all cases being released from the Michigan Supreme Court, Court of Appeals (published and unpublished), along with summaries from the Sixth Circuit. A staff of Michigan attorneys prepares all of the summaries. The e-Journal also has ethics opinions, attorney discipline reports, and more. Last year, the e-Journal won the prestigious Gold Circle Award from the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).
