"Ask the Lawyers" Moderator Retires After 30 Years

Higgins attended Ferris State College and graduated in 1966 with a degree in Secondary Teaching with majors in Chemistry and Biology and minors in Physics and Physical Science. In 1964, Central Michigan Educational Resources Council employed Higgins as an on-camera teacher of science for students in grades 5 through 8. In 1967, he became a full-time employee of Central Michigan University as a producer/director and traffic manager for the University's soon to be launched television station. In 1967, when WCMU-TV went on the air, Higgins wrote program logs and oversaw the traffic operations. Higgins and his wife Sadie, have three sons, and three grandchildren. His retirement plans include moving to Albuquerque NM, where he will "remodel his home and landscape the yard." He also plans extensive traveling to visit with his grandchildren. "Ask the Lawyers" programs are aired in several locations throughout the state. The Genesee County program, which airs on ABC 12 (WJRT) in Flint, features a guest attorney answering pre-recorded legal questions asked by the public. Viewers can also tune in to live broadcasts of "Ask the Lawyers" on WNMU-TV 13 in Marquette and WGVU-TV 35/WGVK-TV 52 in Grand Rapids. Check local listings for dates and times.
