State Bar Honors Diana Dietle With 2000 Liberty Bell Award

The State Bar has named Diana Dietle as this year's Liberty Bell award winner. Dietle was selected from candidates submitted by local bar associations around the state of Michigan and is the 2000 recipient of the Oakland County Bar Association's Liberty Bell award.

This award recognizes outstanding service performed by a non-lawyer citizen who has given of their time and energy to strengthen the effectiveness of the American system of freedom under law, in keeping with the spirit of our Constitution. Dietle currently serves as general manager of Talent Coordinators in Birmingham, Michigan and is also producer of the Oakland County Bar Association's television program, "Due Process." This program, which airs on WDIV-TV in Detroit, seeks to educate the general public about various areas of the law. Dietle has been involved in various organizational activities related to charities and civic associations including planning and public relations for the Michigan Kidney Foundation, special projects coordinator for the Michigan Cancer Foundation and fundraising and special activity director for the Children's Hospital of Michigan. She is a board member and officer of the Child Abuse & Neglect Council of Oakland County, a board member of the Oakland County Bar Foundation, and serves on the Event Committee of the Children's Charities Coalition.

The Liberty Bell award will be presented during the Thursday, September 21 luncheon of the State Bar's 65th Annual Meeting at the Cobo Center in downtown Detroit.
