ADR Section to Present Interactive Program at Bar's Annual Meeting
9/4/01 An interactive program entitled "Convening the Mediation: Accessing Entry Issues in Multi-party Social Conflicts" will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2001 at the Lansing Center. Presented by the Alternative Dispute Resolution Section, the program will be held in conjunction with the Annual Meeting of the State Bar of Michigan. The interactive program will be presented by Josh Stulberg, Professor of Law at the Moritz College of Law at Ohio State University and Director of its Comprehensive Program on Dispute Resolution. Professor Stulberg is a former Vice President of the American Arbitration Association. He regularly conducts mediation training for court?annexed programs, government agencies, and professional and community groups throughout the country in addition to mediating selected employment, commercial, family and public policy disputes. He will bring a combination of scholarly background and hands on experience to assure an informative presentation. In addition, Mary Bedekian, Regional Vice President of the American Arbitration Association, and George Roumell will present their highly anticipated and up?to?the?minute annual review of ADR case law and other developments. The ADR Section serves to educate the bench, bar and public about the many benefits of using one or more ADR processes to settle disputes instead of traditional litigation in the courts. The Section welcomes all members of the bar and other persons interested in the ADR process to this meeting.
