Keefe, Brinkmeyer, Murphy and Lubben Elected to State Bar Commission Seats
7/17/01 Ronald D. Keefe of Marquette, Scott S. Brinkmeyer and William B. Murphy of Grand Rapids and Craig H. Lubben of Kalamazoo have won seats on the State Bar of Michigan's Board of Commissioners. They will sit on the board for three-year terms expiring at the close of the Annual Meeting in 2004. Keefe will represent District A, which includes 39 northern Michigan counties. Brinkmeyer and Murphy, who both won uncontested seats, will represent District C (Kent, Ottawa, Muskegon, Oceana, Newaygo, Mecosta, Isabella, Gladwin, Clare and Osceola). Lubben will represent District F (Berrien, Cass, St. Joseph, Branch, Hillsdale, Calhoun, Kalamazoo, Van Buren and Allegan). Ronald Keefe has been a member of the Board of Commissioners of the State Bar of Michigan since 1998. He was a member of the State Bar Representative Assembly from 1995 to 1998 and is past president of the Marquette County Bar Association. He is a shareholder and president of Kendricks, Bordeau, Adamini, Chilman and Greenlee, P. C., where he has practiced law since 1976. Scott Brinkmeyer is the secretary and former treasurer of the State Bar of Michigan and currently serves as Chairperson of the Membership Services Standing Committee. He is a member of the Representative Assembly and has served on various Bar committees. Brinkmeyer is a principal in the law firm of Mika, Meyers, Beckett and Jones, PLC in Grand Rapids. He specializes in the areas of product liability, environmental, commercial, and oil and gas litigation. Bill Murphy is a Michigan Court of Appeals judge for the third district. He currently serves as chair to the Michigan Judicial Tenure Commission. In 1994, the Michigan Supreme Court appointed him to two committees for the Michigan Justice Project. He has served as a member of a number of committees that deal with court administration. Craig Lubben was appointed to the State Bar of Michigan Board of Commissioners in September 2000 and currently serves on the Board's Strategic Planning Committee. He has previously served on the Representative Assembly (1990 - 1992) and various other State Bar committees. Lubben is also a Fellow of the State Bar Foundation. He has practiced in the Kalamazoo office of Miller, Johnson, Snell and Cummiskey, P. L. C. since 1986.
