Ulrich, Cranmer and Schnelz Win State Bar Commission Seats

Election results for the State Bar of Michigan Judicial Tenure Commission, Representative Assembly and Young Lawyer s Section - Executive Council are in. The results are as follows:

Henry Baskin of Birmingham was elected to the Judicial Tenure Commission for a three-year term starting in January 1, 2002 and expiring December 31, 2004.

There were uncontested elections in 22 Representative Assembly circuits. Elected were:

1st Circuit (Hillsdale) - John P. Lovinger

2nd Circuit (Berrien) - John Dewane

3rd Circuit (Wayne) - C. Lance Cooper, Thomas J. Guyer, Susan Licata Haroutunian, David Lafarga, Robert A. Neaton, Karen K. Plants, Robert W. Spada

4th Circuit (Jackson)- Bruce A. Barton

7th Circuit (Genesee) - Richard Hohenstein, H. William Reising

9th Circuit (Kalamazoo)- Matthew R. Cooper, Carolyn Schott

13th Circuit (Antrim, Grand Traverse and Leelanau) - Barbara A. Assendelft, Robert H. Witkop

14th Circuit (Muskegon) - David B. Kortering

16th Circuit (Macomb) - William R. Knight, Jr., Paul Piatt

17th Circuit (Kent) - Susan B. Hoekema, Dustin P. Ordway

The only contested race was for the 6th Circuit (Oakland). The following were elected: Gerard J. Andree, Stephanie A. Berg, M. Sheila Garin, J. Scot Garrison, Edward L. Haroutunian, Lisa Beth Kirsch-Satawa, Randall Miller, Frederick A. Neumark, Erin Elizabeth O'Brien and Barry R. Powers.

Elections were also held for the Young Lawyers Section - Executive Council. Elected in the uncontested races for two-year terms expiring at the close of the Annual Meeting in 2003 were: District 1 - Donald DeNault, Jr., Stacey King and Lavonda R. Jackson. District 2 - Kathryn M. Day, Ginta D. Kukainis and Wilfred Eric Steiner. District 3 - Andrew Portinga.
