State Bar Antitrust, Franchising and Trade Regulation Section To Host Luncheon With FTC Commissioner
2/15/01 The State Bar of Michigan's Antitrust, Franchising and Trade Regulation Section will host a roundtable luncheon with Commissioner Thomas B. Leary of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) at 12:00 noon on Friday, March 23, 2001. The event will be held at the Detroit Club, 712 Cass Avenue, Detroit. Mr. Leary was sworn in as a FTC Commissioner on November 17, 1999. Before his service on the FTC, he was a partner at Hogan & Hartson in Washington D.C. where his practice focused principally in the area of antitrust and trade regulation. Before joining Hogan & Hartson, Mr. Leary served as Assistant General Counsel of General Motors with overall responsibility for antitrust, consumer protection and commercial law matters. He is also a former partner at White & Case in New York. Commissioner Leary received his undergraduate degree in Economics from Princeton University and his law degree from Harvard Law School, where he was an editor and an officer of the Harvard Law Review. He served as an Air Intelligence Officer on active duty in the United States Navy from 1952 to 1955. If you have any questions regarding this event, please contact Mark T.
