The Hon. Marilyn Kelly of the Michigan Supreme Court will be the keynote speaker at a luncheon, Wednesday, May 23rd for the Kent County Jury Curriculum Inservice program. The day-long program includes introduction of a new jury curriculum for middle and high school social studies and English classes.

Sponsored by the State Bar of Michigan Open Justice Commission's Jury Project, the luncheon will provide teachers and those involved in the courts with an opportunity for face-to-face conversation about the workings of the jury system, a fundamental pillar of our democracy. The luncheon portion of the program is scheduled at noon, with remarks from Justice Kelly at 12:30 p.m. and the Hon. Carolyn H. Williams of the Kalamazoo County Probate Court at 1:30 p.m. The luncheon will be held at the Kent Intermediate School District, 2930 Knapp Street, N.E., Grand Rapids.
