UMLI Set For June 15 - 16

4/26/01

The 2001 Upper Michigan Legal Institute (UMLI) will be held June 15th and 16th at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island.

This continuing education conference is open to all members of the State Bar of Michigan and will include seminars of interest to Michigan lawyers such as real property, family, estate planning, probate and business. The Institute's credit programs have been approved by the Wisconsin Board of Bar Examiners and the Ohio Supreme Court Commission on Continuing Legal Education.

Ronald Keefe, Chairperson of the Upper Peninsula Lawyers Committee and organizer of the event, said some new topics will be addressed this year such as a tax primer for estate planners, residential condominium development and the new anti-stalking law and its implications. The seminars will feature highly accredited professionals including Henry M. Grix of Dickinson Wright PLLC, John G. Cameron, Jr. of Warner, Norcross & Judd, LLP and Nancy J. Diehl of the Wayne County Prosecuting Attorneys Office.

"We are providing Michigan lawyers with an opportunity to learn the latest information in the profession from the recognized experts in a beautiful setting," said Keefe. "We had a record attendance of over 150 last year, and we are hoping to do just as well this year, if not better."
