"...And Justice for All" to air on WKAR
12/12/01 Tune in to East Lansing's WKAR public television station on Sunday, January 6 at 6 p.m. to watch "… And Justice for All", an hour-long program that highlights issues related to race, gender, ethnicity, disabilities, and sexual orientation in Michigan. A project of the State Bar of Michigan's Open Justice Commission, the program will also air on Friday, January 11 at 1 p.m. The program format is a roundtable symposium, interspersed with three vignettes that identify common as well as unique open justice issues in Michigan. "… And Justice for All" is moderated by University of Michigan President Lee C. Bollinger. Panelists include the Hon. Maura D. Corrigan, Chief Justice of the Michigan Supreme Court, Hon. Victoria A. Roberts, U.S. District Judge, John T. Berry, Executive Director of the State Bar of Michigan, attorney Stephen R. Drew of Drew, Cooper and Anding, Prof. Zanita E. Fenton of Wayne State University Law School, and Lupe R. Montigny, educator. The co-chairs of the Open Justice Commission, Justice Marilyn Kelly of the Michigan Supreme Court and Judge Harold Hood of the Michigan Court of Appeals, join Michigan State University journalism Professor Sue Carter in providing an overview to the program. The program's goal is to elevate the level of critical thinking and constructive debate within the profession and to inform the public of issues such as the mission and activities of the Open Justice Commission, current barriers to justice and their solutions, as well as available statewide judicial resources.
