1/8/02

The State Bar of Michigan is now accepting nominations for the 28th annual Wade H. McCree, Jr., Awards. The purpose of the McCree Awards competition is to grant statewide recognition to outstanding print and broadcast media journalists whose work including written materials and radio/television broadcasts are published/aired between January 1, 2001, and December 31, 2001. These entries should aim to:

  • Foster greater public understanding of the inherent values of our legal and judicial system
  • Inform and educate citizens about the role of the law, the courts, law enforcement agencies, and the legal profession in today's society
  • Disclose practices and procedures in need of correction or improvement
  • Encourage and promote legal and state legislative efforts to update and modernize our laws, courts, and law enforcement agencies

Any newspaper, wire service, news syndicate, magazine, radio station, television station, legal publication, or network in Michigan or any of their employees is eligible to enter the awards competition.
