10/4/02

The president of the State Bar of Michigan, Reginald M. Turner, will address lawyers from three southwest Michigan counties on Tuesday, October 8, 2002. He will meet with members of the Berrien, Van Buren and Cass County bar associations in Stevensville.

Turner, who was recently sworn in as the 68th president of the State Bar, is a partner in the Detroit law firm Clark Hill. He practices labor, employment and election law and also serves as a governmental affairs advisor to businesses and nonprofit organizations.

During the dinner presentation, area lawyers Dan Hopp and Al Butzbaugh, a former president of the State Bar, will also update members about the Bar's Open Justice Commission and its Access to Justice Campaign. This will be followed by a discussion.

Pre-dinner events begin at Tosi's Restaurant at 6: 00 p.m. and dinner at 6:45 p.m. For more information please contact Michael L. Metzger, president of the Berrien County Bar Association at (269) 923-3590.
