State Bar Consumer Law Section to Present Consumer Advocacy Award to LSJ Columnist
9/8/03 John Schneider, a columnist for the Lansing State Journal who writes about consumer issues, has been chosen by the State Bar of Michigan's Consumer Law Section to be the recipient of the 2003 Frank. J. Kelley Consumer Advocacy Award. He will receive the award at the State Bar of Michigan Annual Meeting on Thursday, September 11, at the Lansing Center. The Frank J. Kelley Consumer Advocacy Award is given to an individual who has shown dedication and service to consumers and to the protection of their rights. Schneider, who was born in Detroit, has written a daily column for the Lansing State Journal since 1988 and worked for the newspaper since 1977. Another highlight of the Consumer Law Section's program is a keynote address by Thomas Domonoske, who will share his knowledge in handling automobile fraud cases. Domonoske serves on the board of directors for the National Association of Consumer Advocates and has much experience in automobile fraud and mobile home fraud claims under both state and federal consumer protection statutes. The Consumer Law Section will conduct its business meeting at 1:00 p.m., during which new officers and council members will be elected.
