"Golden Celebration" to Honor 50-Year State Bar Members
5/4/04 The State Bar of Michigan will host a "Golden Celebration" luncheon on Friday, May 21, 2004, to honor more than 165 attorneys who have been members of the organization for 50 years. The noon luncheon will take place at the Dearborn Inn. Honorees and one guest are invited to attend the event free of charge. In previous years, 50-year members were honored at the State Bar Annual Meeting. Commenting on the change, State Bar president Scott S. Brinkmeyer said he "believes that it is fitting that we recognize the accomplishments of our 50-year honorees in a distinct, stand-alone event. In doing so, we emphasize and celebrate their longstanding commitment to our profession." The event is being held in collaboration with the State Bar Young Lawyers and Senior Lawyers Sections. Entertainment will feature music from the 1950s to the present. The luncheon is also open to additional honoree guests and other State Bar members at a cost of $30 a ticket. For more information, contact State Bar Events Coordinator Caryl Markzon at (517) 346-6371 or cmarkzon@mail.michbar.org.
