Plaque Unveiling Marks Bar's 29th Legal Milestone in Honor of President Ford

9/27/04

A special Legal Milestone dedication ceremony was held in Grand Rapids on Monday, September 20, 2004 at the Gerald R. Ford Museum to pay tribute to one of the city's most famous personalities - former president, Gerald R. Ford. The president of the State Bar of Michigan, Scott S. Brinkmeyer, (left) was joined by Martin J. Allen and former Mayor John Logie (extreme right), both longtime Ford family friends, as well as Patrick Miles, president of the Grand Rapids Bar Association as they unveiled a bronze plaque detailing Ford's career. The ceremony marked the State Bar of Michigan's 29th Legal Milestone. Created in 1986, the Michigan Legal Milestone Program recognizes important cases, events and personalities in the state's rich legal history.
