State Bar of Michigan Executive Director John Berry congratulates staff writer Naseem Stecker for winning a Grand Award in the APEX 2004 Awards for Publication Excellence competition. Ms. Stecker won the award for an article published in the February 2003 Michigan Bar Journal entitled "Sex Offender Registry Raises Complex Legal Issues". Of the nearly 5,500 entries in APEX 2004, just 100 Grand Award winners were selected. APEX 2004 awards were based on excellence in editorial content and quality, and the success of the entry in achieving overall communications effectiveness and excellence. Judges commented that the article was "exceptionally well-written, taking an objective look at a difficult topic."
