YLS Trial and Appellate Advocacy Seminar Set for Feb. 5

The State Bar of Michigan Young Lawyers Section (YLS) will host a Trial and Appellate Advocacy Seminar on Saturday, February 5, 2005 in East Lansing at the Michigan State University College of Law. The free program will begin at 9 a.m. with breakfast to be followed by the presentations at 9:30 a.m. till noon.

The seminar will focus on effective methods of written and oral advocacy at the pre-trial, trial, and appellate stages in both civil and criminal cases. The program will also feature use of courtroom technology and information about new procedures at the Court of Appeals.

Speakers will include Michigan Court of Appeals Chief Judge William C. Whitbeck, and attorneys John D. Pirich and Eric J. Eggan from Honigman, Miller, Schwartz and Cohn, LLP.

Free parking is available close to the law school, which is located at the corner of Bogue and Shaw Streets. There is no charge to attend but registration is highly recommended. The seminar will be limited to the first 75 registrants.
