Animal Legal Lifeline Helps Callers With Problems

7/27/05

The Animal Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan is operating a referral service to help callers resolve animal-related legal issues. Those requiring assistance are advised that the service is not necessarily pro bono. The caller and the attorney make their own fee arrangements once the connection has been made. The Animal Legal Lifeline's (ALL) toll-free number is (800) 211-6257.

The service came into operation a year ago under the direction of Marshall attorney Wanda Nash. According to Nash, the most common problems reported were veterinary medical-malpractice, exotic animal issues, animal control and protection shelter contracts and breeder issues. A new coordinator Nicole Quandt, will be overseeing the service as it heads into its second year of operation. For more information please contact Quandt at nquandt@floodlaw.com
