Low Cost Ways Courthouses Can Be More Accessible to Persons With Disabilities

3/22/05

The Equal Access Initiative of the State Bar of Michigan Standing Committee on Justice Initiatives is distributing the second of four e-newsletters on disability issues. It is titled Low Cost Ways Courthouses Can Be More Accessible to Persons With Disabilities and is available on the State Bar of Michigan website. These newsletters are free of charge and members of the bar as well as members of the public may sign up to receive them at the Disabilities Project Newsletter Sign-Up.

The first newsletter was entitled Deaf and Hard of Hearing, and the third and fourth issues are Wheelchairs in the Courtroom and Non-Lawyer Advocates for People with Cognitive Disabilities. Funding for this project was provided in part by the Newman Foundation. For more information, please contact Judy Hershkowitz at the State Bar of Michigan Justice Initiatives Division at jhershkowitz@mail.michbar.org or (800) 968-1441 ext. 6335.
