5/12/05

The Wolverine Bar Foundation (WBF) will honor Linda V. Parker, Director of the Michigan Department of Civil Rights, at its 9th Annual Damon J. Keith Community Spirit Award Luncheon on Thursday, May 19, 2005. The event will be held at noon at the Renaissance Club, 200 Renaissance Center, Suite 3600, Detroit.

The award, named for the Honorable Damon J. Keith of the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, recognizes lawyers who demonstrate an exemplary commitment to community service and champion the rights of others in the battle for social equality.

A Detroit native, Ms. Parker is also a past president of the Wolverine Bar Association.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Damon J. Keith and Wolverine Bar Foundation Scholarships Fund, which provides financial help to law school students in Michigan.

Tickets are $35 per person or $350 for a table of 10, and are available through the Office of the Wolverine Bar Foundation c/o The Scholarship Committee, 645 Griswold, Suite 961, Detroit, Michigan 48226, (313) 962-0250.
