As part of celebrations to mark Legal Assistant Day on May 3, an educational seminar has been organized by the Legal Assistants Section of the State Bar of Michigan. A general session on legal writing in plain English by Jeanette Buttrey, associate professor at Cooley Law School will start the program.

  • Business law topics will be taught by R.Scott Keller, a partner at Warner Norcross and Judd LLP; and Jean Schtokal and Matt Hrebec, both shareholders at Foster Swift Collins and Coey, P.C.
  • Peter Tassie, Managing Counsel, Ford Motor Company and Thomas Norton and Robert Wierenga, senior attorneys at Miller Canfield Paddock and Stone, P.L.C, will cover litigation topics.
