SBM Section Seminar to Address Gasoline Prices

10/25/06

A seminar sponsored by the State Bar of Michigan Antitrust, Franchising, and Trade Regulation Section will attempt to answer a question many have been asking for the last year: Can anything be done about the price of gasoline?

The event, titled "Gasoline Pricing and the Antitrust Laws," will take place Tuesday, Nov. 14 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Lansing Center. During the course of the seminar, antitrust attorneys, economists, trade association representatives, and state and federal governmental enforcement agents will discuss topics ranging from gasoline pricing, price gouging, mergers in the petroleum industry, and the proposed Michigan Petroleum Marketing Stabilization Act.

Cost for the seminar, which includes continental breakfast and lunch, is $25 for Antitrust, Franchising, and Trade Regulation Section members and law students and $100 for non-members. Registration forms, which must be completed by Monday, Nov. 6, can be downloaded from the section web site at http://www.michbar.org/antitrust/. For more information, contact Susan McMann at the State Bar of Michigan at (517) 346-6367.
