"Incarceration in the Michigan Department of Corrections" will be the subject of a panel discussion on Friday, September 15 at the State Bar Annual Meeting in Ypsilanti. Organized by the Prisons and Corrections Section of the Bar, the program, which begins at 9:30 a.m. in the Parlor Room, will provide an overview of MDOC operations. Topics to be discussed include placement classification, administrative reviews, grievances, discipline, special designations, Parole Board preparation, hearings, and decisions.

Featured speakers include:

• Sandra Girard, executive director, Prison Legal Services of Michigan
• Richard Stapleton, hearings administrator, Michigan Department of Corrections
• John Rubitschun, chairperson of the Michigan Parole Board and deputy director, MDOC
• Rachel Waterbury, Parole Revocation Unit supervisor, MDOC

he program moderator will be Dan Manville, past chair and council member of the Prisons and Corrections Section. Refreshments will be served.
