Rombach Elected to SBM Board of Commissioners
12/1/06

New Baltimore general practitioner Thomas C. Rombach recently won a contested seat in a State Bar of Michigan commissioner election in District D covering Macomb and St. Clair counties. He fills the seat vacated by Kimberly Cahill, who is currently the president of the State Bar.

As a commissioner, Rombach will serve a three-year term expiring at the close of the Bar's Annual Meeting in 2009. The State Bar Board of Commissioners (BOC) provides oversight to the various operations of the Bar such as finance, public policy, member services, and other related matters. Rombach previously served on the BOC from 2001 – 2003.

He has been particularly active in the State Bar Representative Assembly — the Bar's final policy-making body — serving as its chair in 2002-2003. He is one of only four attorneys from Macomb and St. Clair counties elected chair of the Representative Assembly. Rombach is completing his eighth year on the Assembly and currently chairs its Special Issues committee.

Rombach is also a past president of the Macomb County Bar Association and remains active in both the Macomb and St. Clair County Bar Associations. A former city prosecutor, he has been elected to the Board of Directors of 12 professional and civic organizations.
