SBM Young Lawyers Section Hosts Technology Seminar

6/6/06

The State Bar of Michigan Young Lawyers Section will host the Technology Enhanced Trial Advocacy Seminar at the Michigan State University College of Law on Saturday, June 10 and Saturday, June 17.

The seminar starts this Saturday with a presentation by U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals Judge David W. McKeague, an expert on electronic evidence issues and technological applications in the courtroom. Judge McKeague will define electronic courtroom evidence and discuss its benefits, explain the basic components of evidence presentation software and capabilities, and offer an overview of the types of software currently on the market. The following week, attendees will take part in a hands-on training lab aimed at training attorneys and their support staff on electronic evidence software applications.

Saturday's event begins with breakfast at 9 a.m., followed by Judge McKeague's presentation from 9:30 to noon. Those interested in registering for Saturday's session, which is free to Young Lawyers Section members, can contact Susan McMann at smcmann@mail.michbar.org or (517) 346-6367 or Jill Brown at jbrown@mail.michbar.org or (517) 346-6414. Registrants for the June 17 training lab can contact Robyn Apisa at robyn.apisa@law.msu.edu or (517) 432-6969. Questions regarding the seminar can be directed to Sean McNally at smcnally@osklaw.com or (517) 351-2550.
