Child Advocacy Law Clinic Brings U.S. Senator, International Experts to its 30th Anniversary Symposium

The University of Michigan Law School’s Child Advocacy Law Clinic (CALC), the oldest clinic of its kind in the United States, celebrates its 30th anniversary with a cutting-edge symposium at the law school from March 29-April 1.

Events commence on the evening of Thursday, March 29 with remarks by clinical professor of law Don Duquette, founding director of the Child Advocacy Law Clinic and a leading international authority on child welfare and advocacy. Also set to speak is John E.B. Myers, professor of law at the University of the Pacific's McGeorge School of Law.

Speakers and moderators appearing Friday, March 30, include U.S. and international legal scholars and practitioners; jurists; academicians and child advocacy experts; and representatives of organizations including the United Nations Committee on Children, the American Bar Association, the American Civil Liberties Union. The Symposium’s celebratory dinner on Saturday, March 31 at the Kensington Court Hotel (610 Hilton Boulevard in Ann Arbor) features a keynote address from U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.).
