State Bar, Michigan Talk Network Team Up For "Ask The Lawyer"
1/16/07 The State Bar of Michigan and Michigan Talk Network’s Big Show will launch a new, hour-long monthly "Ask the Lawyer" feature on Thursday, January 25, 2007 to discuss important legal issues and answer listeners’ calls. "Ask the Lawyer" will feature a different law firm each fourth Thursday of the month from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. "It’s our hope to provide the public with legal advice on a wide range of issues like child support, bankruptcy, contract disputes, estate planning, landlord-tenant problems, equal access to justice and other topical matters," said Kimberly Cahill, president of the State Bar. "Listeners also will be able to ask questions on and off the air." "Ask the Lawyer" will be produced at WJIM-AM in Lansing and simulcast on 10 stations throughout the state. Hosted by Michael Patrick Shiels, the Big Show is Michigan’s only statewide morning talk radio show. "We see 'Ask the Lawyer' as a valuable public service and a perfect fit with our daily content of news, sports, weather, business, and politics," said Tim Hygh, general manager of Michigan Talk Network. "The State Bar is an excellent source for reliable information on legal issues and our system of justice." Attorneys from Honigman, Miller, Schwartz and Cohn will be featured January 25 on the inaugural "Ask the Lawyer." Founded in 1948, Honigman, Miller, Schwartz and Cohn is a business law firm based in Bloomfield Hills with offices in Lansing. Law firms and practitioners interested in being on "Ask the Lawyer," should contact Tim Hygh at (517) 394-7272 ext. 277 or email tim.hygh@citcomm.com. Listeners can ask questions on the air by calling 1-888-900-9966 between 9 and 10 a.m. or off the air between 10 and 11 a.m. ### |
