State Bar of Michigan Officers Elected for 2007-2008

Ronald D. Keefe of Marquette has been elected president of the State Bar of Michigan for the 2007-2008 bar year. He will be sworn in as leader of the organization of more than 38,000 members at a luncheon on Thursday, Sept. 27 during the SBM Annual Meeting in Grand Rapids.
Others serving as officers for 2007-2008 are President–Elect Edward H. Pappas of Bloomfield Hills, Vice-President Charles R. Toy of Lansing, Secretary W. Anthony Jenkins of Detroit, and Treasurer Julie I. Fershtman of Farmington Hills.
Keefe is a shareholder of Kendricks, Bordeau, Adamini, Chilman and Greenlee, PC in Marquette. He is also Marquette's city attorney. Pappas is the director of commercial and business litigation and alternative dispute resolution at Dickinson Wright, PLLC in Bloomfield Hills. Toy practices environmental, commercial, and criminal litigation with Farhat and Story, PC in Lansing. Jenkins is a partner at Dickinson Wright PLLC, where he serves on the board of governors and represents clients in the automotive, real estate and retail industries. Fershtman is currently of counsel to Zausmer, Kaufman, August and Caldwell, PC, where her practice focuses primarily on business litigation and insurance law.
The State Bar's Representative Assembly will elect a new clerk at its meeting next month. New officers for 2007-2008 are Chairperson Robert C. Gardella of Brighton and Vice-Chairperson Katherine Kakish of Detroit.
