Women Lawyers Association of Michigan Annual Meeting Slated for Friday, April 20
4/11/07 The Women Lawyers Association of Michigan will hold its 87th annual meeting at the Michigan Hall of Justice rotunda in Lansing on Friday, April 20, from 11:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Headlining the event is keynote speaker Jennifer Bluestein, director of professional development at global law firm Baker & McKenzie, who’ll deliver a presentation titled, “How Women Can Own Their Own Success.” Bluestein, a human resources specialist and lawyer who has participated in American Bar Association panel discussions regarding best practices for the promotion of women in law firms, will discuss topics ranging from methods of identifying mentors to making your case to get what you want from your employer. She appears at the meeting thanks to a partnership between WLAM and the State Bar of Michigan Equal Access Initiative. Other meeting highlights include a tour of the Michigan Supreme Court chambers led by Justice Marilyn Kelly, the installation of WLAM officers for the coming term, lunch, and a variety of networking opportunities. The cost to attend the annual meeting is $65 for WLAM members and $75 for non-members prior to the April 2 early registration deadline. After April 2, the cost is $70 for member and $80 for non-members.
