3/31/08

The SBM Business Law Section Debtor/Creditor Rights Committee is co-sponsoring a seminar on rules instituted by the Bankruptcy Court of the Eastern District of Michigan that will go into effect in early May. The seminar will take place on Friday, April 11 at the Trott Financial Center in Farmington Hills.

District judges will conduct the seminars, which will be broken into two sections. The first session, which will run from 1-2:45 p.m., will address rule changes impacting business cases. The second session from 3:15-5 p.m. will focus on changes to rules addressing consumer cases. This seminar is the only one of its kind to be held prior to the effective date of the rules.

The registration deadline is Friday, April 4. Cost is $30 per section, or $35 per section with a copy of the new court rules. Participants can pay via credit card at www.det13.com. A printable registration form is also available there, or at the Debtor/Creditor Rights Committee web page at http://www.michbar.org/business/debtor-creditor.cfm. Contact Craig S. Schoenherr Sr. at (586) 726-1000 with questions.
