The State Bar of Michigan International Law Section and the International Committee of the SBM Taxation Section will host a presentation by guest speaker Tino van den Huevel from the international law firm of Hill Smith King & Wood LLP on Tuesday, June 3, at 3:30 p.m. The event will take place at Automation Alley, located at 2675 Bellingham Drive in Troy.
In addition to assisting Fortune 100 clients in structuring complex cross-border business transactions, Mr. Van den Heuvel is a law faculty member of Utrecht University in the Netherlands. His presentation, titled "Current Trends in Europe: Emerging Markets, Holding Companies, and Supply Chain Management," centers on recent developments in Europe with a focus on emerging markets, including Russia, Romania, and the Ukraine, and leading European holding company jurisdictions. He will also examine techniques to achieve global tax and cost efficiencies through effective supply chain management and coordination of local preferential tax regimes and tax treaty networks.
