Ed Pappas and SBM Delegation to Tour Upper Peninsula Oct. 13-15

10/1/08

The new president of the State Bar of Michigan, Edward H. Pappas, will lead a contingent of State Bar leaders on a tour of the Upper Peninsula Monday-Wednesday, Oct. 13-15. The annual tour gives U.P. bar associations, the media and the public the chance to meet the person leading the State Bar during the next year.

Mr. Pappas is a partner and client service director at Dickinson Wright PLLC — one of the largest law firms in Michigan. He has been with the firm for 35 years and has significant litigation, trial, and appellate experience in all types of commercial litigation including real estate, contract, corporate, partnership, and shareholder disputes. He is widely known for his expertise in business tort litigation, and has also arbitrated and mediated all types of civil law suits.

The 2008 tour includes stops in Sault Ste. Marie, Escanaba, Iron Mountain, Ironwood, Hancock, and Marquette. Members of the State Bar delegation include the new chair of the Representative Assembly, Katherine Kakish, SBM Executive Director Janet Welch, Commissioner James Erhart, and Director of External Development Candace Crowley.
