Volunteers Needed for YLS/Mentors Plus Annual Picnic Oct. 4

9/30/08

"Around the World with Mentors Plus" is the theme of a picnic Saturday, Oct. 4 in Waterford hosted by the State Bar of Michigan Young Lawyers Section and the Oakland County Youth Assistance Mentors Plus program. The annual event will be held at the Drayton Plains Nature Center on 2125 Denby Drive near Dixie Highway and Hatchery from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Ten volunteers are urgently needed to help set up activity stations, grill food, and direct different craft, entertainment and outdoor activities. Participants, including the mentors and their assigned matches, will enjoy a cookout, hayrides, a bonfire, and a host of multicultural-themed activities.

To volunteer, contact Maureen McGinnis of the YLS at mmcginnis@dmcginnis.com. To get involved with the Mentors Plus program, contact Oakland County Youth Assistance at (248) 858-0051.
